Dr. Yara Hassan, marine biologist, keeps a terrarium of surface plants in her quarters. She talks to them. The crew finds this charming until they notice the plants are growing toward the floor — toward the structure below — instead of toward the grow lights above. Yara doesn't mention it. She's been growing toward the structure too, staying up later each night, pressing her palm against the hull. Listening.
