The city of Thelmark was erased in 1487. The Grand Cartographer personally removed it from the master map after its duke attempted to train his own mapmakers. 50,000 people didn't die — they simply never existed. Except in dreams. Across the mapped world, people occasionally dream of a coastal city with red-tiled roofs and a lighthouse shaped like a hand.
